Yonkers Man Charged In Bodega Stabbing

YONKERS, N.Y. – A Yonkers man is in custody after police said he stabbed another man multiple times during an altercation at a South Broadway bodega.

Yonkers police responded to a report of a stabbing at 9:20 p.m. Sunday night at La More Supermarket, 356 South Broadway, near the McLean Avenue intersection. There, police found a 33-year-old city resident with several stab wounds to the abdomen, department spokesperson Det. Lt. Patrick McCormack said Monday.

Police said he attacker was Roberto Trinidad, 28, of 1 Post St., who was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, a felony. The attack is believed to have occurred after a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation, police said.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive.
