YONKERS, N.Y. – A call to Yonkers police Wednesday morning reporting a hostage situation at a Lawton Street home turned out to be a hoax, police said.

Yonkers police responded around 6:45 a.m. to reports that one man was holding another hostage with a gun at the home near McLean Avenue. However, no one with a gun was found, and it appears the call was unfounded, police said.

By 7:30 a.m. police cars had left the street. Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident. No further information was available.
