When the initial group of firefighters arrived on the property, they saw heavy fire near the back of a two-story house, according to fire department spokesman Thomas F. Fitzpatrick Jr.

Some of the flames spread inside the home, but quick action minimized the amount of damage caused inside the property, Fitzpatrick said.

One resident of the house and two firefighters were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Fitzpatrick said.

The fire caused some smoke and water damage inside the home, and officials are investigating what started the blaze, Fitzpatrick said.
