Updated 3:00 p.m. YONKERS, N.Y. -- A one-alarm fire in a multi-family home in Yonkers left five adults and six children homeless early Thursday, according to fire officials and the Red Cross.

The fire occurred at 112 McLean Avenue, near the intersection of McLean Avenue and Radford Street, where it was quickly brought under control.

However, a cause has not yet been determined.

Westchester Red Cross spokeswoman Carolyn Sherwin said the house was deemed uninhabitable due to extensive damage.

She added they have provided the families with emergency relocation and financial assistance to replace food and clothes.

Sherwin said the families are currently working with community agencies to find long term housing.
