Lt. Anthonoy Mangone, 48, died at his home on Tuesday. He had been a member of the Yonkers Fire Department for more than 21 years, according to lohud.com.
Fire Chief Thomas Fitzpatrick Jr. said Mangone was dedicated to the department and fond of working with organizations like the Ronald McDonald House, according to lohud.com. The chief told the news outlet that Mangone will be missed.
Calling hours are scheduled for 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Sinatra Funeral Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. A funeral Mass iwill be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 670 Yonkers Ave., according to lohud.com.
