Yonkers Cops Determine Shooting Victim Was Targeted

YONKERS, N.Y. -- After initial investigations, Yonkers police have determined the 37-year-old man shot on Thursday, Feb. 20, was specifically targeted, according to police officials.

The unidentified man drove 13 minutes to Jacobi Medical Center after sustaining a bullet wound in the left arm.

The unidentified victim was shot in the left arm as he got out of his vehicle at around 1:46 a.m. in the area of 150 Parkway North.

He immediately reentered his vehicle and fled the scene to the Bronx where he sought treatment at Jacobi Medical Center.

According to Google Maps, the drive would have taken approximately 13 minutes without consideration of traffic patterns.

Upon arriving at the hospital, his injuries were considered non-life threatening and Yonkers police were notified.

According to Lt. Patrick McCormack, Yonkers police suspect the man was personally targeted, and are working  to determine the motive.

However, no suspect is in custody at this time.
