Yonkers Center Cares For Abused Dog; Owner Faces Animal Cruelty Charges

YONKERS, Conn. -- A dehydrated, anemic and allegedly abused dog will be staying at the Yonkers Specialty Center for a few months after being rescued in Brooklyn, according to a story on Westchester News 12.

Ginger, along with another dog, were rescued after being locked in a cage for seven months, according to Westchester News 12.

Rosa Catania, of Brooklyn, is facing animal cruelty charges, the story said. Ginger had suffered three broken legs and could not move, Westchester News 12 said.

Ginger will have to undergo several surgeries that will cost approximately $20,000, Westchester News 12 said.
