Yonkers Apartments Damaged By Fire Hit By Thieves

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Some of the more than 90 displaced tenants of a Yonkers apartment complex that was damaged during a fire on Monday, returned home to find their apartments had been broken in to, according to News 12.

The tenants were given the okay to enter their destroyed apartments at 28 Carlyle Ave., by the fire department to try and salvage items. 

One tenant told News 12 she had hundreds of dollars stolen along with an Xbox. The tenant blamed the landlord for not boarding up, or securing the building, said News 12.

Om Dhiman, the building's owner said he hired security. On Wednesday, he had work crews at the building boarding up windows, added News 12.
