Last week, Westchester Reform Temple Director Eli Kornreich alerted police that he had flagged two emails that were sent to the temple’s website from an unknown user with a Yahoo email account, directed at Rabbi Jonathan Blake.

According to police, the two emails were sent at 9:22 and 11:03 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, with one referring to an article about recent bomb threats made to JCC schools around the country. Police then determined that a company by the name of JotForm manages the website and processing of the incoming emails.

Patrol then requested that the Westchester Reform Temple Communications Director contact JotForm to ascertain the IP address for the email in an effort to accelerate the investigation, police said. Kornreich told police he believes that the emails are in response to a recent interview that Blake conducted about allowing Syrian refugees into the United States.

As a precaution, patrol has been conducting ride-bye throughout working tours and have been monitoring the area. The ongoing investigation was turned over to the Scarsdale Police Department Detective’s Division.
