Yahya A. Alsaidi, a 23-year-old male and resident of 57 Garfield St., has been charged with assault in the first degree, officials said. He was apprehended on June 16.

Yonkers police spokesman Lt. Patrick McCormack said a third suspect is still at large. He is described as an Arabic male.

The stabbing took place at 167 Elm St. in front of La Rocca Restaurant. The two victims, a 19-year-old male and a 48-year-old male, were taken to the hospital, both with numerous lacerations to the torso and face. Both are expecting to survive their injuries.

The first suspect to be apprehended was a 14-year-old male.

McCormack stressed that the incident was not random, and that all victims and suspects were known to one another.

"There was definitely some kind of prior dispute," he said. "When they got together, they had a physical dispute where the stabbings occurred."

The investigation as to the cause of the fight is still ongoing.

The incident is one of many on Elm Street, which has been the subject of increased police attention after a shooting which injured three people, including a 9-year-old girl at a pizzeria located at the intersection of Palisades Avenue and Elm Street on June 13.

McCormack said the incidents are not related, and did not occur in the same neighborhoods or precincts.

Anyone with further information is asked to call the Yonkers Police Detectives Division at (914) 377-7724.
