YONKERS, N.Y. -- Two Yonkers police officers have been indicted on unspecified charges in connection with a falsified search warrant that was used after a suspect jumped out of an apartment window and died, according to LoHud.com.
Detective Christian Koch and Officer Neil Vera allegedly issued false sworn statements in order to obtain a warrant to search the third-floor apartment of Dario Tena, LoHud.com reported.
Internal affairs later discovered the false statements and placed the two suspects on modified duty. As a result of the statements, charges were dismissed against 15 defendants in 12 separate cases, LoHud.com said.
