Police confirmed that Lorenzo Gallardo-Vilgen, 19, was the teenager struck by a car on the northbound lane of the Sprain Brooke Parkway shortly before midnight on Tuesday. The victim was from Hopewell Junction, a hamlet in East Fishkill in Dutchess County.

The incident, which forced police to close the road for nearly seven hours, started following a smaller, two-car accident. Following the crash, the victim got out of the vehicle and entered the parkway, when he was struck by a third vehicle – helmed by White Plains resident Terrell Smith - that had not been involved in the initial collision.

Gallardo-Vilgen was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Reportedly, the driver of the third vehicle was treated for non-fatal injuries at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
