Suffern Police Arrest Yonkers Man On Grand Larceny Charge

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- A Yonkers man was arrested Monday, May 2, by Suffern Police for stealing a wallet from a local eatery last week.

According to Suffern Police they arrest the unidentified 44-year-old man following an investigation into the theft of the wallet after the victim dropped it while paying for his food. 

Police were able to identify the suspect through video surveillance that shows him picking up the wallet and exiting the business, placing the stolen wallet into his truck, and then coming back inside the restaurant to pick up his food, police said.

The man was arrested by Sgt. Dave Tarantino, Officers Ryan Ortiz and Frank Gulla. He is currently being held at the Suffern Police Department awaiting arraignment. 

The wallet was also recovered during the course of the investigation minus the cash it originally contained, police said.
