The first fire was reported on Nepperhan Avenue near Copcutt Lane, and the second was in front of 60 St. Casimir Ave. Both fires broke out between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., officials said.

During the incident, a car parked above one of the manholes caught fire. Firefighters chose to protect the nearby building and let the car burn itself out, fire officials said.

Consolidated Edison was able to cut the lines feeding the areas, and power was quickly restored, officials said.
