Officers responding to the attack in the vicinity of Prospect Street at Riverdale Avenue around 10:30 p.m.,  found the teen on the sidewalk with numerous stab wounds, said Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.

Officers rendered aid pending the arrival of EMS as the victim related information to the officers; he was then transported to a local area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Politopoulos said.

Results from the preliminary investigation found the victim was going home from a party when he was jumped by three men who proceeded to assault the victim and remove some of his property including a bag of recently purchased clothing before fleeing the area, he added.

According to Politopoulos, the teen may have known his attackers.

Investigators are actively pursuing leads in the attack. Anyone with information on the incident may call detectives at 914-377-7724. All calls will remain confidential.
