In September 2005, Serbay went missing and her body was later found wrapped and discarded on the side of the Sprain Brook Parkway. At the time of her death, investigators said that Serbay may have been in the company of 39-year-old Christopher Gonzalez, who is currently being held in Florida and awaiting extradition to New York.

According to police, Gonzalez, a former resident of the Nodine Hill neighborhood in Yonkers, was known to find and meet women through online chat grounds. Police said that he is also believed to have associated with prostitutes in the area of Maple and Oak Street in Yonkers.

Gonzalez has also been linked to the murder of a teenager in the Bronx in 2000.

On Sept. 3, 2005 at approximately 8:18 a.m., the New York State Police were dispatched to the northbound side of the Sprain Brook Parkway, just north of the Jackson Road overpass, to investigate the discovery of human remains.

A passing motorist contacted police after he observed what appeared to be a body covered by a yellow tarp discarded on the side of the parkway.

The victim, later identified as Serbay, was discovered wearing jeans, a blue, white, and black striped halter top, and black New Balance sneakers. The Westchester County Medical Examiner determined that Serbay died as a result asphyxiation by strangulation. State police have actively been investigating Serbay's death for more than a decade.

Serbay is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5-foot-4, 138 pounds, with a tribal rose tattoo on her left upper arm, a tribal rose tattoo on her right ankle, and a tattoo with initials on her left hand. Angel was last seen in the proximity of 160 Willow Street in Yonkers at approximately 3 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2005.

Police said they are looking to speak with anyone who may have been in contact with Serbay or Gonzalez before the time of her death.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Investigator Richard Miller of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Hawthorne by calling (914) 769-2600. All calls may be kept confidential.
