Neighbors Help Contain Early Morning Fire In Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Residents of Clark Street in Yonkers woke up to a fire Wednesday morning, according to FiOS 1 News.

Yonkers Police received a call at 4:30 a.m. for a structure fire. The residents all got out of the home safely and the house itself made it out mostly unscathed, according to FiOS 1 News.

It took officials a half hour to combat the flames, with the help of neighbors, reported FiOS 1 News. The fire ultimately tore a hole in the roof and melted away the siding, according to FiOS 1 News.
