WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - The man accused of shooting and killing a popular Mount Vernon nightclub owner on Christmas Day is due back in court this week to face murder charges.

On Thursday, 40-year-old “career” criminal Errol Hillary is expected back in court after being indicted earlier this month on murder charges after being accused of killing club owner O’Neil Bandoo and injuring several others in a holiday shooting spree at The Mansion on Third Avenue.

According to police, gunshots were fired at around 4:26 a.m. Christmas morning after the club's owner, the 36-year-old Bandoo and security kicked out Hillary, who subsequently opened fire in the lobby. Security guards, with an assist from Mount Vernon police officers who were on patrol in the area, tackled and apprehended him as he attempted to flee.

In total, five people at the party suffered gunshot wounds and required medical treatment, while Bandoo lost his life.

Hillary stands charged with felony counts of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, several counts of second-degree attempted murder and assault charges. He’s been held without bail at the Westchester County Jail since being arrested on Christmas.

Hillary had been arrested twice in the past for a pair of shooting incidents, and was reportedly out on $200,000 bond while facing attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting a man in the Bronx last May when he allegedly committed the Mount Vernon shooting.
