Fire officials confirmed that shortly before 6 a.m. on Thursday morning, firefighters responded to a two-alarm blaze at the multi-family home on 10th Avenue that left one family without a place to live.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross are working with the displaced family to find temporary housing as crews get set to assess the damage to the home.

The fire started in a basement, but things quickly escalated and the fire spread to the higher floors. There have been reports that the basement was under construction. It took approximately two hours until the flames were corralled.

There were no injuries reported in the fire, and the family was able to return to the structure for special belongings once the flames were knocked down and the scene was reported clear.
