Missing Man Is Located After Joint Search By Yonkers, Hastings Police

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Hector Cervantes, who had been reported missing and was the subject of a joint search by the Yonkers and Hasting police departments, has been located.

Yonkers Police issued a Missing Person Alert and driver's license photo just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 to assist in finding the man who suffers from early signs of dementia and walked away from his family's home sometime on Monday, June 2.

"Thank you to all who shared our missing person post, we reached over 4,000 people and it was shared over 100 times in a few hours," The Yonkers Police reported. "This highlights the importance of our use of social media and the community's active involvement in assisting the YPD in these important cases. Thank you."
