Police received the initial report involving the student at The Harvey School in Katonah on Oct. 9, launching the investigation by the Bedford Police Department Detective Division in conjunction with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office that led to the arrest of 32-year-old Kamar A. Brown, a resident of Waterbury, Conn.

Brown is charged with attempted dissemination of indecent material to a minor, a felony. Brown left The Harvey School in June of this year, police said.

Harvey School administration was made aware of the investigation and at no time were the students of The Harvey School in any immediate danger, according to police.

None of the crimes in which Brown has been charged to this point occurred while he was employed at Harvey School, or occurred on the property belonging to the school, police said.

The Harvey School administration cooperated fully with the investigation, and their assistance helped result in the charge, police said.

Brown was processed at Bedford Police Headquarters and is awaiting arraignment in the Town of Bedford Justice Court.
