A Westchester County grand jury indicted Lucius Crawford with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of murder related to the deaths of Tonya Simmons, 42, on Dec. 4. and Learonda Shealy, 23, in 1993.

Crawford is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on the indictment at the Westchester County Supreme Court. The new indictment replaces the existing murder charge against Crawford related to the fatal stabbing of Simmons and adds a new murder charge for the killing of Shealy.

Crawford was first arrested in December after police said he stabbed Simmons 19 times at 7 Beekman Ave., Mount Vernon. Following his arrest, Crawford was questioned by Yonkers police, who said he confessed to the cold-case killing of Shealy and Nella West from the Bronx in 1993.

If convicted, Crawford faces sentences of 25 years to life on each murder count. He is being tried separately for the death of West in the Bronx.
