YONKERS, N.Y. – Yonkers police are hunting for a pair of robbers Monday after a failed street stickup.

About 11:23 p.m. Sunday, a 45-year-old Yonkers man was walking in the 100 block of Landscape Avenue, when he was approached by two men who demanded his wallet. One of the robbers flashed what appeared to be handgun, police said.

When the victim refused, one of the robbers broke a glass bottle over his head, police said. They fled east down Caryl Avenue on foot. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a gash and released, police said.

A search of the area by Yonkers police did not turn up any suspects.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Detective Division at 914-377-7724 and remind residents that anonymous tips may be sent to the department’s Tips411 texting program.
