YONKERS, N.Y. -- City firefighters want the Supreme Court to prevent a Lowe's home improvement store from going into Ridge Hill shopping center until construction is done or planned of a new firehouse, according to lohud.
The union, Local 628 I.A.F.F, is suing to prevent officials in Yonkers from giving a certificate of occupancy for the store currently going up, said the report.
Firefighters are "not in danger from any building" at the plaza, Yonkers fire Commissioner Robert Sweeney told lohud.
