YONKERS, N.Y. - A child is being treated for "serious" injuries after being sent to the hospital when he was being struck by a car in Yonkers on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, a child was struck by a car near the busy intersection of South Broadway and Vark Street at approximately 2 p.m. The accident is currently under investigation and the condition of the child is unknown. Police temporarily shut down the roadway as they conducted an investigation at the secne of the accident that has since concluded. The cause of the accident is unknown
