William F. Parker, Jr., 79, Former Retired City Of Yonkers Firefighter

NEW MILFORD, Conn. - William F. Parker, Jr., of New Milford, formerly of Yonkers, died Friday, Oct. 4. He was 79.

Parker was born Jan. 16, 1934, to William F. Parker, Sr. and Mary O'Brien Parker in Yonkers where he was raised and attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Stepinac High School in White Plains in 1952. He was a firefighter for the City of Yonkers for 22 years from 1960 until his retirement in 1982. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1953 to 1960. He achieved the rank of lance corporal and was stationed in the states. He was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew's Church.

Parker is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mary (McNulty) Parker; son, William F. Parker, III, YFD (Grace) of New Milford; daughters, Elizabeth Gerosa of Somers and Lisa Beresford (Erik) of Katonah; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Janet White, Margaret Brusack, and Elizabeth Klustner.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
