YONKERS, N.Y. -- Venerina G. Carrea, 83, of Yonkers passed away July 18, 2015.
She was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Colledimezzo, Italy to Giulia and Nicola Di Nardo.
She worked as a seamstress and enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking.
Carrea was the loving wife of the late Luciano, mother of Giulia (and the late Ignazio), grandmother of Rita (Vito) Virga and Luciano (Amanda) Bongiovi and great-grandmother of Justin and Julianna Virga.
Carrea is survived by her sisters Ida, Rina, Grace and Helen and their spouses.
She was predeceased by her brothers Antonio, Joe and Vittorio.
There will be a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart with entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
The family will be present from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., 732 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers.
