Theresa Santini Ryan, 93, Of Yonkers, Worked For Michael Harmony Corp.

YONKERS, N.Y. - Theresa Santini Ryan of Yonkers died July 4. She was 93.

Ryan was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Yonkers, to Angelina Chioffi and Nazzareno Santini. She was a lifelong resident of Yonkers and graduated from Public School #2, Benjamin Franklin High School, and Drakes Business School. She worked as a secretary for Jan Norris, Sculptress in Manhattan, for Farand Optical Company during World War II, and as an accountant for the Michael Harmony Corporation in Yonkers for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Columbiettes for over 50 years, she served on all levels: auxiliary president of Cardinal Hayes, chapter president of Westchester-Putnam, State president of New York State and Supreme president for the Supreme Council. She also volunteered as chairwoman for the Columbiettes' project to make braille books for the blind. She also spent 25 years as a volunteer at St. Joseph's Medical Center Gift Shop and served as a member and officer of St. Joseph's Auxiliary.

Ryan is survived by her son, Dennis Joseph Ryan (Carole) of Vero Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John P. Ryan, Sr.; son, Dr. John P. Ryan (Catherine) of Waterford; and sister, Laura Manfredi of the Bronx.

Calling hours are Thursday, July 10 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flower Funeral Home, 714 Yonkers Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Friday, July 11 at St. Barnabas Church, where Theresa was a parishioner. Interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
