The Rev. Richard E. Johnson, 83, Former Pastor Of Yonkers Church

WAPPINGERS FALLS – The Rev. Richard E. Johnson, a resident of Wappingers Falls, died Monday, April 18. He was 83.

He was born on Aug.7, 1932, in Joplin, Mo. to William and Bernice Johnson.

From 1966-94, he was the pastor at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Yonkers. In 1994, he became the pastor at St. Timothy’s Church in Hyde Park until his retirement in 2004.

He is survived by his children, Deborah K. Johnson of Torrance, Calif., Anna L. Johnson of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Ronald Johnson and his wife Helena of Fishkill; his daughter-in-law, Patricia Johnson of Orlando, Fla.; his grandchildren, John Marzano, David Marzano, Richard Johnson, Michael Johnson, Kathryn Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Jr., and Brian Johnson; and his three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Donna Kay; and a son, Richard Johnson.

Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill. 

The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 Route 52, Fishkill.

Donations may be made in Johnson’s memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
