YONKERS, N.Y. -- Robert W. “Butch” Costello, of Yonkers, died on Friday, May 8, 2015. He was 79.
Costello was born in Yonkers to John and Anna (nee Bartley) Costello.
He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. After his service, he joined Local 1 Elevators Union, becoming a member for 43 years and working on the construction of the World Trade Center.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three children, Christopher and his wife, Laurie, Timothy and Robin, two grandchildren, Chris and Lauren; and his brother, John Costello and his wife, Ann of Nanuet.
He was predeceased by his sister Diane.
Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
