Robert Stewart Hornbeck, 72, Of Yonkers, Self-Employed Remodeler

YONKERS, N.Y. - Robert Stewart Hornbeck of Yonkers died Thursday, Feb. 27. He was 72.

Hornbeck was born May 5, 1941, to Melvin and Florence (Shampnoi) Hornbeck in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Saunders High School. He was a self-employed remodeler (RHS Remodeling); retiring in 2013. He served in the Marines from 1959 to 1963. He also worked as a dog groomer for We Care Kennels in the Bronx.

Hornbeck is survived by his children, Todd (Alice) Hornbeck, Robert Hornbeck and Kim Marie Hornbeck; two grandchildren; and sister, Doris Mangone. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine V.; and siblings, Melvin Hornbeck, Florence Schmidt, Caroline Papavic, Lulu Radomski, Ruth Penovic, and Edith Harms.

Calling hours are Thursday, March 6 from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7 in the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Committal service at Ferncliff Chapel.
