Regina Antash, 91, Of Yonkers, Worked At Gimbels Department Store

YONKERS, N.Y. - Regina Antash (nee Burns), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Friday, Sept. 26. She was 91.

Antash was born Sept. 4, 1923, to Lawrence and Nora Kelly Burns, in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. She was a salesperson for women's shoes at Gimbels Department Store in Yonkers for many years until her retirement in 1988. She was a parishioner of Christ the King Church and a former parishioner of St. Joseph's Church.

Antash is survived by her sons, Albert L. Antash (Loretta) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Robert Antash (Laurie) of Yonkers, Lawrence Antash (Mary) of Indian Land, S.C., and Michael Antash (Michelle) of Kingwood, Texas; sister, Theresa Bower of Dover, Del.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Antash; son, James Antash; brothers, Lawrence, William, Jackie and Joseph Burns; and sister, Hilda Sexton.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
