Peter J. DiResta, 65, Of Yonkers, Vietnam War Veteran

YONKERS, N.Y. - Peter J. DiResta of Yonkers died Saturday, May 3. He was 65.

DiResta was born April 24, 1949, to Assunta Scialdone and Patsy DiResta, in Yonkers. He graduated from Utica College with a Master's Degree in Engineering. He served in the defense industry and worked at Loral Electronics, Ward Leonard and Matsushita as well as Grummond. Prior to that he served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He served as a Yonkers Public School teacher of secondary mathematics.

DiResta is survived by his wife, Sandra; stepson, Michael DeMaio; mother, Assunta DiResta; brothers, Gene and John DiResta; sisters, Diane Maiello and Linda Scarcella; and numerous nieces.

Calling hours are Tuesday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave., with the funeral Mass to be celebrated at Mt. Carmel Church at 1 p.m. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
