Otto F. Frey, 94, Of Yonkers, Owned Frey’s Dry Cleaners

YONKERS, N.Y. - Otto F. Frey, lifetime resident of Yonkers, died April 4. He was 94.

Frey was born Jan. 20, 1920, to Harold F. Frey and Frances Podlesny. He graduated from Gorton H.S. and served in World War II as a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp. where he was decorated with the Air Medal. Until his retirement in 1988 he ran Frey's Dry Cleaners which was established since 1872 along with his brothers. A long time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, where he was a member of the nocturnal adoration society. He was also a member of the Dry Cleaners Association, the Alan F. Waite American Legion Post 299, and the Amackassin Club.

Frey is survived by his wife, Helen (Walsh) Frey; twin brother, Harold of Springfield, Mass.; children, Robert (Doreen), Arlene Radding (Paul), Kathleen Lavelle (James) and Frances Masser (William); and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Mildred.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Sacred Heart. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church.
