Nicoletta Murjahn, 85, Former Yonkers Resident

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Nicoletta M. Murjahn of Mahopac, formerly Yonkers, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the age of 85.

She was born on June 20, 1929, in the Bronx, the youngest of six children. She was the daughter of Vincenzo and Maria Concetta Gagliardi. She was a great cook, avid poker and lottery player and known for her gentle and kind nature. 

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Mooney and her husband, Michael, of Mahopac; and Audrey Napierkowski and her husband, Edward, of Patterson; her brother; her sister; and two grandsons.  

Visiting will be held Friday, Jan. 30, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Mahopac, with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the at www.stjude.org or St. John the Evangelist Prayer Garden.
