Mina Anna Kowalczyk, 88, Longtime Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. - Mina Anna Kowalczyk (nee Canziani), a longtime Yonkers resident, died Monday, Dec. 9. She was 88.

Kowalczyk was born March 15, 1925, to Carlos and Alfreda Kreichak Canziani in Czechoslovakia. She was orphaned at an early age and subsequently was raised and educated in Germany. She was an assembler at Precision Valve Corp. in Yonkers for many years until her retirement.

Kowalczyk is survived by her husband, George "Yurij" Kowalczyk; daughters, Marta Reuter of Falls Church, Va., and Irene Hryhorowych of New York City; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Andrew Kowalczyk.

Calling hours are Saturday, Dec. 14 from 8:15 to 9 a.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
