Mary Palovchik, 99, Lifelong Yonkers Resident, Seamstress

YONKERS, N.Y. - Mary Palovchik (nee Bertha), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died Monday, March 17. She was 99.

Palovchik was born April 23, 1914, to Michael and Elizabeth Bertha in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. She was a seamstress in the garment industry in New York City for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Yonkers.

Palovchik is survived by a son, Frank Palovchik (MaryAnn); two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Palovchik; and brothers, Michael and Joseph Bertha.

Calling hours are Friday, March 21 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
