YONKERS, N.Y. -- Margaret (Panepinto) Mariano, of Yonkers, died on Wednesday Jan. 21.
Mariano was born in the Bronx on Dec. 23, 1919, to Giuseppe and Lucia Nicolosi Panepinto. She will be remembered for her strength, courage, and love of family and friends.
She graduated from high school in New York City and was a seamstress until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Vincent Mariano (Linda) of Crestwood and her daughter, Annette Romito of Mahopac. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Janine, Stacy, Vincent, Matthew, and Nicole and great-grandchildren Anthony, Nicholas, Ashley, Tabitha, Joseph, Layla and Giana.
She is also survived by her sisters Caroline Cione, Anna Mariano, Josie Porzio, and brother Sam.
She was predeceased by siblings Angelo, Mary Tomanelli, Frances Russo, and Carlo.
Visitation will be at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 pm, Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Annunciation Church, Crestwood, on Saturday at 10 am.
