Levern Gamble, 73, Of Yonkers, Retired Bus Driver

YONKERS, N.Y. – Levern Gamble, 73, of Yonkers, died Tuesday, April 21.

He was born May 25, 1941, in Olanta, South Carolina, to the late Sam and Eva Fulton Gamble.

He worked as a bus driver for Liberty Lines for over 25 years, retiring in 1995.

Gamble also worked at General Motors in Tarrytown for almost 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Watson Gamble; two daughters, Doris (Gerard) Florence of Elmsford and Nicole (Edward) Rios of Yonkers; one sister, Carolyn Gamble; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 25, and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave., Yonkers.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, 50 Jackson Ave., Hastings-On-Hudson.
