Julia Daniels, 95, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Julia Daniels, of Yonkers,  died on Saturday, April 16. She was 95.

Daniels was born in Yonkers to Stephen and Julia (Slutak) Berezny on Sept. 11, 1920.

After graduating from Commerce High School in 1938, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Yonkers law firm of Scrugam and Arbuckle. On Nov. 27, 1943, she married Joseph Daniels. They lived in California until 1948, when they returned to Yonkers.

Daniels worked in Egerman's Pharmacy in Yonkers for close to 25 years. 

Her husband died in 1994.

She is survived by her two married children, Joseph S. Daniels (Sally) of Texas and Julie A. Daniels (Richard Schasberger) of Connecticut, one grandchild Michael Daniels (Marie), and two great-grandaughters.

Another grandson, Brian Daniels died in 2006. She also was predeceased by her brothers Stephen and Michael and her sister, Helen Misley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Untermeyer Gardens Conservancy, or Cardinal McCloskey/Residential Services for Children. 

Visiting hours will be at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Thursday, April 28. from 3 to 7 p.m. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers on Friday April 29 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
