John P. Colonna, 85, Of Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- John P. Colonna, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died on Saturday, March 21. He was 85.

He was born to Michael and Amelia DiNinno Colonna, and was a Korean War veteran of the Army.

He was a retired carpenter for Vetrano Construction and a member of the Westchester Carpenters Union 188 for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Delluomo Colonna; daughters, Joanne Acheson and husband James, Lorraine Colonna, Carol Espineira and husband Manny; two sisters, Tina Marinello and Lilly LaGuidice and seven grandchildren.

Colonna was predeceased by a sister, Velia Cantelmo.

Arrangements are being handled by Flower Funeral Home, 714 Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers.

Visiting hours are Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services are set for 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital are requsted.
