John C. Watson, 91, Of Yonkers, Retired Construction Worker

YONKERS, N.Y. - John C. Watson of Yonkers died April 25. He was 91.

Watson was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Grand Falls, Canada. He was a construction worker for The New York Dockbuilders and Carpenters Union until he retired at the age of 65. He was a veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Scarsdale American Legion Post 52. 

Watson is survived by children, Gary (Patricia), Dennis (Irene), Donna Jordan and Thomas (Maria); 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Claire Van Straalen. 

Calling hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. Sunday at Flynn Memorial Home, 1652 Central Park Ave., Yonkers, NY 10710. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday April 29 at St. Eugene’s Church, Massitoa Road, Yonkers, NY 10710.  Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
