Jennie Zoda, 75, Formerly Of Yonkers, Secretary, Yonkers Board Of Education

NEW MILFORD, Conn. - Jennie Zoda (nee Giancaspro), a resident of New Milford, formerly of Yonkers, N.Y., died Wednesday, Nov. 5. She was 75.

Zoda was born March 30, 1939, to Rocco and Angelina Mazza Giancaspro in the Bronx. She was raised and educated in the Bronx and Yonkers and graduated from Commerce High School. She was a secretary for the Yonkers Board of Education for 19 years until her retirement in 2002. She was most recently a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford, and previously a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Church in Yonkers, N.Y. She was a member of the "Girls Night Out Book Club" in New Milford, a longtime member of the Rosary Altar Society at Christ the King and was involved with the P.T.A. at Christ the King School from 1979 to 1990. Also, she was a volunteer at Voting Poles in Yonkers, N.Y.

Zoda is survived by her husband, Vincent L. Zoda; son, Michael James Zoda (Kristen) of Tuckahoe; daughter, Jennine Zoda of Watertown (fiancé, Kevin Potoczek); sisters, Ann Keuhner of Hopewell Junction and Maureen Vialotti of New Milford; and a granddaughter. She was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Marie Zoda; brother, Vic Giancaspro; and sister, Marie Frieary.

Calling hours Saturday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10 in Christ the King Church. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
