Janet R. Jacobsen, 92, Yonkers Native

BERGENFIELD, N.J. — Janet R. Jacobsen, of Bergenfield, died Monday, Sept. 28. She was 92.

Jacobsen was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Yonkers, N.Y. to Seth and Eva Remington Belknap, graduating from Northfield Seminary located in Massachusetts.

After high school, she worked in the office of the New York Central Railroad in New York City, and later at Parents Magazine in Bergenfield.

She was predeceased by her husband Ferdinand.

Jacobsen is survived by her four children, James and his wife Linda of Saddle Brook, N.J., Charles and his wife Linda of New Port Ritchie, Fla., Gail Sadowski and her husband Paul of Hampton, and Suzanne Amitrano and her husband Robert of New Milford, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Margaret Smith of Laurel, Md., and many nieces and nephews.

Riewerts Memorial Home in Bergenfield handled arrangements.

Interment was at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Clinton Avenue Reformed Church.
