Anderson was born May 15, 1928, to William and Helen (O'Brien) Newbrand. She graduated from School #16 and Gorton H.S. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church; member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers; Brownies; Girl Scouts and the Fr. Solanus Casey Prayer Group. She was employed by the Yonkers Board of Education at Saunders H.S. retiring in 1983. She also was a member of the Yonkers Historical Society, American Legion Auxillary, Alan F. Waite Post #299, Hudson River Museum, Amackassin Club, St. Johns Hospital Auxillary and did volunteer work at St. John's Hospital.
Anderson is survived by her daughter, Audrey Jean Ozarowski; sister-in-law, Florence Anderson; and two nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert; daughter, Carol Anderson Cirizzi (Frank); and son-in-law, Warren Ozarowski.
Calling hours are Monday, Feb. 3 from 3 to 7 a.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Sacred Heart Church with Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
