James A. Cucinell, 86, Of Yonkers, Principal Cucinell Electric Company

YONKERS, N.Y. - James Cucinell of Yonkers died recently. He was 86.

Cucinell was born in 1928, to Samuel and Mary (May) Cucinell of Yonkers. After serving in the Korean War, he returned as a principal in Cucinell Electric Company, which his father had founded in 1924. He was a past president of the Yonkers Rotary Club and chairman of its Gardens for Youth Program. He was president and governor of the Westchester-Fairfield Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors' Association NECA. He was also president of the Homefield Association in Yonkers, member of the Board of Directors of Leewood Golf Club and president of the Yonkers Rehabilitation Center. He as a lector and communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville and also at St. John the Evangelist in Naples, Fla.

Cucinell is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Dolly) nee Shalvoy; children, Pamela Cucinell Pardillo (Mario), James Cucinell Jr. and Susan Sullivan (Kevin); three grandchildren; siblings, Dr. Samuel Cucinell (Elynore), Joan O'Reilly (Vincent) and Jean Kent (Frank); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Cucinell (Peggy); and nephew, Samuel Cucinell (Mary Alice).

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Lewy Body Dementia Association.
