Helen Ercole, 91, Of Yonkers, Weaver At The Alexander Smith Carpet Shop

YONKERS, N.Y. - Helen Ercole (nee Wall), a longtime Yonkers resident, died Wednesday, March 19. She was 91.

Ercole was born July 19, 1922, to Patrick and Nellie Burns Wall in Yonkers where she was raised and educated attending local schools. She was a weaver for the Alexander Smith Carpet Shop for several years prior to their closing. She was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and most recently of St. Columba's Church in Hopewell Junction.

Ercole is survived by her sons, Tony (Donna) of Hopewell Junction, Frank of Mahopac and John (Joanne) of Mahopac; and sister, Veronica "Ronnie" Wall; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Ercole; brothers, Edward "Buddy" and Matthew Wall; and sisters, Mary Zaremba, Margaret Yavorsky, Catherine "Patsy" Tiedemann, Theresa Lobbe and Alice Contrino.

Calling hours are Sunday, March 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24 in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
