YONKERS, N.Y. - Giuseppe Aversa of Yonkers died March 4. He was 84.
Aversa was born in Rende, Italy, to Emilio and Constantina Capizzano Aversa. He was a cabinet maker for Capital Woodworking and Local 246 for over 38 years and served as a cavalier in the Italian Army.
Aversa is survived by his wife, Rosina Reda Aversa; children, Amilio, Vincenzo (Melissa) Aversa, Connie (Tony) Lourentzatos, Flora (Eddie) Lai, Anna (Bobby) DiMarzo, Rosemarie Aversa Dalton and Viviana (Eric) Pers; siblings, Victoria and Paolina Guilianna; and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Luigi and Maria.
Calling hours are Friday, March 7 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flower Funeral Home, 714 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at St. John the Baptist. Entombment at Ferncliff.
