Gerald "Jerry" Perillo, 83, Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Gerald "Jerry" Perillo, 83, a resident of Yonkers, passed away on Aug. 11 surrounded by loved ones.

Jerry was born in Dobbs Ferry on January 19, 1932, the son of Kathryn Fiori and Liberato Perillo. He graduated Ardsley High School in 1950 and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Jerry retired from General Motors in Tarrytown in 1995, after 40 years of dedicated service.

Jerry enjoyed his retirement years attending the Bryn Mawr Senior Center, spending time outdoors and watching his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Velia Perillo. He will be missed by his children, son Gary Perillo of Alpharetta, GA, daughter Gina Perillo Iaciofano of Yonkers and step-daughter Ann Marie Kuropatski of Yonkers. Jerry is survived by seven loved grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by his sister, Norma Canzio of Hartsdale and brother, Robert Perillo of Mahopac.

Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony's Church on Saturday Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
