YONKERS, N.Y. - George M. Keleshian of Yonkers died April 11. He was 90.
Keleshian was born Feb. 6, 1923, to Harootun and Dhirourie Keleshian. He grew up in the Soundview section of the Bronx, and graduated from Stuyvesant High School (NYC) class of 1941. During WWII, he worked for the war effort at a defense plant in Bridgeport, Conn. He was a photo engraver by profession, and was partner and owner of Kitab Engraving and Van Allyn Graphics.
George married Eleanor Blajian on October 2, 1948, at Holy Cross Church of Armenia (NYC).
Keleshian is survived by his children, Donna (Winston) Mitchell, Poughkeepsie, Gregory (Janet Materi), Bronxville and Adriane (Christopher) Bonfiglio, Thornwood; sister-in-law, Mary Blajian of Naples, Fla.; nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; five great-great nephews; and friends.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 14 (with a religious service at 5 p.m.) at Flynn Memorial Funeral Home –on Central Park Ave., Yonkers. Funeral service at Flynn Memorial Monday, April 15 at 10:45 a.m., followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery (Bronx ).
